WALL RESTORATION AT 62 SOUTH ROAD, KENT

This project was to rectify damage to a wall, unfortunately caused by a van which had mounted the pavement.

Fortunately the damage was not too much and we were able to repair it using all the original stonework.

THE WORK UNDERTAKEN

This project involved taking down a section of the boundary wall to the property, which had unfortunately been hit by a van.

The damage to the wall was enough to make some of the wall unstable, but luckily the damage to the stonework was minimal, so it simply meant rebuilding with what was already there.

Once all vegetation which would have been in the way was removed, we carefully took down the coping stones, and also any loose stonework, stopping once we found the wall stable enough to build on.

We then rebuilt the wall, putting the stones back in as the came off the wall, and used a mortar mix with coal added to it, to match with the original mortar.
